Designed to focus on essential skills, CGC helps your dog master the basics of walking on a leash with poise, obeying commands to sit and lay down, and responding promptly when called upon. In addition to these foundational skills, CGC emphasizes the development of good social manners, preparing your dog to thrive in various environments amidst distractions, whether it's encountering other dogs or interacting with new people. The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program serves as an excellent foundation for those embarking on the journey into therapy and support animal work. By mastering the basic skills and exhibiting good social manners through the CGC program, dogs develop the necessary qualities to excel in therapeutic roles
